Service Analyst Junior Officer Position – European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)

EFSA employs approximately 450 staff members and its Scientific Committee and Panels engage highly qualified and independent scientific experts. Every position within EFSA plays an important part in creating an inspirational environment in which to work and develop.
EFSA key priorities are:
(1)Prioritise public engagement in the process of regulatory science;
(2) Widen EFSA’s evidence base and maximise access to its data;
(3) Build the EU regulatory science capacity and know ledge community;
(4) Harmonize EU Risk Assessment methodologies;
(5) Create an environment and culture of openness.
The successful candidate will use his/her understanding and interest in the use of IT within Business functions to react to business priorities and reflect them in call management
The jobholder will work under the responsibility of the Team Leader of the Customer Empowerment Team within the Planning, Transformation & Technology (PTT) Unit, Resources and Support (RESU) Department.
The mission of Resources and Support Department (RESU) is to provide EFSA with framework conditions for a modern and professional public administration, to ensure that EFSA operates within an effective and controlled environment, and that all EFSA
Departments can rely on a set of integrated operational support services.
The RESU Department ensures that the human, financial and IT resources are allocated to EFSA’s objectives in accordance with the principle of efficiency, accountability and best value for taxpayers’ money. The mission of the Planning, Transformation & Technology Unit (PTT), within RESU Department’s overall mission, is to help EFSA excel in the performance of our business processes by:
  • supporting EFSA’s ambition for transparency and trust by making information and processes available, accurate and consistent;
  • translating strategy into work program through appropriate methodologies for business transformation and business portfolio management;
  • enabling management to align performance with strategy by providing relevant and timely information on the realisation of strategic and operational objectives;
  • taking a leading role in opening boundaries, bridging process silos and introducing shared standardised solutions;
  • ensuring all IT products (built or bought) and all IT services (in-house and outsourced) are customer oriented, cost efficient and fit for purpose;
  • lifting IT competencies and capabilities of EFSA staff to allow for a more user centric and self service oriented technology use.
