ICT Officer – EU-OSHA

osha-logoThe European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA) is organizing a selection procedure with a view to establishing a reserve list and recruiting a long-term Contract Agent (FG III) to work within the ICT Section of the Communication and Promotion Unit in the following position:

EUOSHA/CA/15/02 – ICT OFFICER (FGIII)
Long-term contract (three-year renewable contract
subject to a probationary period of 9 months)

JOB FRAMEWORK

As part of the Communication and Promotion Unit (CPU) the ICT Section provides the following ICT services to the Agency:

  • ICT infrastructure management: it ensures the provision and well-functioning of the infrastructure services including network, telephony, server administration, systems and processes administration, security and helpdesk services;
  • ICT systems and application management: it ensures the high quality and timely release of the software applications supporting the Agency’s needs.

Under the supervision of the ICT Manager, the ICT Officer will assist in the administration of the Agency’s ICT systems and processes.

JOB PROFILE

Main functions and duties
The position will entail the following tasks:

  • Administer MS SharePoint farm, MS SQL Server databases, MS Exchange servers, VMware and other ICT systems;
  • Execute backup processes (e.g. VeeamBackUp, Networker), user processes (e.g. newcomers, departures etc.) and other ICT processes;
  • Document ICT systems and ICT processes;
  • Coordinate projects to upgrade and improve ICT systems and processes, including planning, initiation, monitoring, execution, testing, deployment and follow-up of production;
  • Liaise with ICT service providers (such as MS partners and backup partners), with external stakeholders and with staff from different units of the Agency to ensure continuous improvement and optimal ICT systems and processes;
  • Other required administrative tasks.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be considered eligible, applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements on the closing date for submission of applications.

General conditions

  • Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union, Iceland, Norway, or Liechtenstein (parties of the EEA Agreement);
  • Enjoy their full rights as a citizen;
  • Have fulfilled any obligations imposed by the applicable laws on military service;
  • Meet the appropriate personal and professional requirements for the duties involved;
  • Be physically fit to perform the duties.

Education and professional experience

Candidates must have a level of education that corresponds to:

  • Post-secondary education attested by a diploma, or
  • Secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education and appropriate professional experience of 3 years.

In addition to the above-mentioned education and professional experience, candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of professional experience relevant to the main duties concerned, as described above.

Knowledge of languages

Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of one of the official languages of the European Union and a satisfactory knowledge of another language to the extent necessary for the performance of his/her duties.

Evaluation of the language competences will be carried out during the written test and the interview of the shortlisted candidates.
