Call for Web Developer / Webmaster – EYP

European Youth Press (EYP), network of young media makers, is seeking a motivated contractor as web developer and webmaster.

In order to apply, you should have working experience in a similar position and/or have a field of study that is relevant to the announced position.

Monthly contract volume is about 370€. Starting date as soon as possible. This is not an employment contract; only registered freelancers with a legal proof of this status are eligible to apply for this call. This is an online collaboration (not office-based).

Responsibilities:

The contractor will report to the board of European Youth Press and be responsible for the implementation of several features of the organization’s new website. In your position you will improve the existing website and develop project websites, fix layout and HTML errors encountered, identify, propose and realize improvements for the publishing workflow, content presentation, and performance and assist the volunteers with technical problems.

Requirements:

• HTML/CSS/PHP proficiency to handle basic tweaks and changes
• Proven experience in web programming / web page development
• Proficiency with WordPress
• Experience with frameworks like Woothemes and plugins like Buddypress
• Experience in webdesign
• Knowledge of Google analytics or similar tools
• Basic knowledge of server administration (.htaccess, FTP, PHP/MYSQL)
• Good knowledge of English
• Creative and detail oriented
• Pro-active and friendly
• Organized and able to fulfill his/her tasks independently
• Available to work 6-8 hours per week
