The Transparency International European Union Liaison Office (TI-EU) is an international nonprofit organisation under Belgian law (AISBL) based in Brussels (Belgium). They are part of the global movement of Transparency International with more than 100 national chapters worldwide and we are closely associated with the Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) based in Berlin. The TI-EU Office coordinates TI’s EU-relevant anti-corruption work, carried out by national chapters across and beyond the EU, including cooperation among the 25 national chapters in European Union Member States, the national chapters in EU accession candidate countries, and TI-S.
As part of the global Transparency International movement, the Transparency International EU Office (TIEU) focuses on EU advocacy. In consultation with the movement, TI-EU promotes accountability, transparency and integrity in the EU’s internal and external policies and the EU institutions through strategic advocacy campaigns at the EU level.
The mission of TI-EU is to prevent corruption and promote integrity, transparency and accountability in the EU institutions, policies and legislation. This will in turn enhance efforts at the national level to fight corruption and promote equality and access to justice for citizens.
Main function: Internship
Starting date: 01 February to 31 July 2015 (6 months)
Location: TI EU Office, Brussels, Belgium
Reporting lines: Under supervision of the Director
Remuneration: The intern will be remunerated according to Belgian labour and social security law
1. Assist the EU advocacy work to promote integrity, transparency and accountability in EU policy and institutions
2. Assist the internal and external communications work of the EU Office by maintaining the TI EU website, editing of text and support with multimedia and social media activities
3. Assist the EU policy monitoring, research and analysis work to assess EU institutions, track transparency-related institutional trends and policy developments at the EU level
4. Assist the preparations of events, meetings and visits in Brussels
5. Assist in the implementation of projects (including support for project management and project reporting)
6. Assist the tracking of activities, impact and reporting to external actors
7. Overall support to the office, including various administrative tasks
8. Perform other ad hoc duties as required
