The European Tourism System of Indicators for Sustainable Management at Destination Level (ETIS) is a simple and flexible tool. It is aimed at helping local authorities to measure and monitor the level of sustainability of their tourism management and can be used by all kind of destinations, without the need of technical expertise.
After the success of the launch, the European Commission now wants to monitor the operability of the system.
This call for expression of interest is aimed at destinations volunteering to try out the ETIS. Three pilot phases starting respectively on 15 July 2013, 1 December 2013 and 1 February 2014 are scheduled. Deadline for applying to the first phase is 1st July 2013.
The call for expression of interest is open to destinations (only) from all EU Member States and Candidates Countries.
