Economic Affairs Officer – UNCTAD


• Professionalism:  Ability to apply economic theories and concepts in different sectors of economic and sustainable development. Ability to conduct independent research on economic topics, determine suitability, validity and accuracy of data provided by different sources. Skill in identifying relevant sources for data collection. Professional competence and mastery of subject matter; efficiency in meeting commitments, observing deadlines and achieving results.
• Communication:  Speaking and writing  clearly and effectively; tailoring  language, tone, style and format to match audience.
• Teamwork:  Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals; supporting  and acting in accordance with final group decision, even when such decisions may not entirely reflect own position.
• Planning& Organizing:  Developing clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identifying priority activities and assignments; adjusting priorities as required; foreseeing risks and allowing for contingencies when planning.

This position is located in the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), in Special Unit on Commodities.
