Call for Translators – European Endowment for Democracy

The European Endowment for Democracy (EED) is an independent foundation based in Brussels. Created to foster and encourage democratisation, it supports local actors of democratic change in the EU Neighbourhood and beyond. EED works in four languages: 1) English, 2) Russian, 3) Arabic and 4) French. Its website, which includes and on-line application form and a “We Support” blog, also covers all languages.

Who? Translators for the following language:

  • English ↔ Russian

  • English ↔ Arabic

  • English ↔ French

  • French ↔ Arabic

  • French ↔ Russian

  • Arabic ↔ Russian

What? The texts are for the EED website and produced on a weekly and sometimes daily basis. The expected quota is 3-10 pages of translation per month.

  • E-mail correspondence with grantees

  • Surveys for EED partners

Where? Although EED is based in Brussels, the translation work may take place in any country.

How? EED uses a web content management system to provide and receive your translations.

When? To begin asap, ideally by September 2015. A reserve list of translators may be needed at other points throughout the year. The framework one year contract will be renewable on an annual basis.

Short translations (maximum 500 words) must be completed within a one day deadline.

Application deadline: Friday, 7 August 2015 at 12 midnight, CET
