Bruegel welcomes applications from all areas of economic research (macro and micro) for 6 positions as Research Assistant starting in September 2017. Please note that these positions are not suitable for candidates who have already finished their PhD studies.
Research Assistants work closely with Bruegel Fellows to conduct research in the forms of Policy Papers, Blueprints, Blogs and external publications and to participate in Bruegel’s events.
We offer a non-renewable, fixed-term contract of one year. All applicants must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics or Financial Economics (or related fields with a major in one of these areas).
Besides a Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Economics, candidates must possess experience in empirical work and have an interest in applied, policy-oriented research in Bruegel’s areas of specialisation. You must demonstrate technical strengths in quantitative economic methods and econometric software. In that regard, some knowledge or experience with software such as Python, STATA or R are highly appreciated. You must also possess a good grasp of economic concepts and be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Versatility, international experience, command of further languages and the ability to work as a team-player are desired.
