Intern at Saab EU Affairs & NATO Office

The Saab EU Affairs & NATO Office is looking for candidates for an internship position for 6 months starting in January 2018.

The primary role of Saab’s EU Affairs & NATO Office in Brussels is to support and strengthen our existing and future business. Our day-to-day work entails e.g. information gathering and situation analysis, early alerts and actions in relation to developments concerning civil, military and aeronautics trends, new legislative and policy initiatives at EU and Member State level, research and funding opportunities.

We are now looking for an intern to join our Brussels office for a period of six months, full time.

YOUR ROLE

Your role will be split in two parts. Approximately 70% of your time will be dedicated to supporting the office with research, attending events and meetings, following the work of the European Commission, the European Parliament, proof-reading, drafting updates and papers etc. Approximately 30% of your time will be dedicated to other office management tasks such as administration, preparing meetings, managing invoices, office supplies etc.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should have a university degree in social sciences, law, economics, engineering or business administration with a specialisation (postgraduate) diploma of relevance to the EU institutional environment.

Having completed a traineeship (‘stage’) with the European Commission or any other EU Institution is considered an advantage.

We are looking for candidates with professional proficiency in one of the Nordic languages, and who are fluent in English. Fluency in French or Dutch is considered an advantage.

We expect you to be highly motivated, have an eye for detail and eager to learn and develop in your role as intern at our office. You are expected to have the social skills and abilities to proactively engage and interact with colleagues and relevant stakeholders in Brussels as well as Sweden.

You will report directly to the Head of Saab EU Affairs & NATO office in Brussels.

Possibility for an extension of the contract exists (based on performance and needs basis).

1 January 2018 – 30 June 2018

COMPENSATION

In line with intern salary in Brussels’ professional EU environments.
