UNESCO-Hamdan Prize


unesco-logoThe UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers is all about improving education quality through raising teacher standards. It was created in 2008 and is funded by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Awarded every two years, the Prize is worth US $270.000 and is divided between three winners. As well as aiming to improve educational practices around the world, it also gives priority to developing countries and to marginalized and disadvantaged communities.

The winners of the Prize are projects that have made an outstanding contribution, through their teacher-related activities, to enhancing the quality of teaching and learning.

Deadline for nomination is October 31, 2013
