BirdLife International is looking for two Research Assistants to join their Science Division in the Global Secretariat, to support their work on two projects.
Position 1. Publication of a report on the impacts of climate change on the world’s birds, and the adaptation solutions being implemented. This will be launched at the UNFCCC meeting at the end of 2015.
The ideal candidate will have:

Excellent scientific writing skills and ability to collate and synthesise information clearly and concisely

Familiarity with documented and projected impacts of climate change on biodiversity and adaptation interventions

A Masters degree in a biological or environmental subject, or equivalent conservation/research experience.
Position 2. Implementation of a project to develop practical impact assessment methods and guidance for small and medium-sized conservation projects.
The ideal candidate will have:

Excellent scientific writing skills and ability to collate and synthesise information clearly and concisely

Familiarity with quantitative and/or qualitative research methods for impact evaluation

Experience in any of: biodiversity assessment, policy impact, capacity development, livelihoods & human well-being, changing awareness & behaviours

A Masters degree in a biological or environmental subject, or equivalent conservation/research experience.
Salary: £17,000 – £23,000 pro rata dependent on experience and qualifications for the role. Competitive pension benefits.
