In order to facilitate and to maximize the impact of the humanitarian operations financed by the Commission in West Africa, the expert will be appointed to the post of humanitarian Technical Assistant / Resilience in the Sahel by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection – ECHO.
The TA-post Resilience for the Sahel will be based in Dakar, Senegal. He/she will be responsible, under the guidance of the Head of Regional Support Office and supervision of DG ECHO headquarters, for the management of nutrition, food security, livelihood support / income generation experience programs. Furthermore, skills related to multisectoral Humanitarian Aid programs, disaster preparedness, post emergency & post conflict rehabilitation are needed. He/she will be required to carry out regular missions in other countries in the framework of the functioning of the ECHO offices under his/her responsibility.
He/she should also be prepared to react to a current or evolving crisis in another country/region following a request by ECHO Brussels.
