In order to facilitate and to maximize the impact of the humanitarian operations financed by the Commission in West Africa and of EU civil protection activities coordinated by it, the humanitarian expert will be appointed to the post of humanitarian Water Sanitation & Rapid Response Technical Assistant (T/A) by the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Directorate-General (ECHO). He/she will carry out a range of water sanitation & rapid response activities relating to the humanitarian operations financed by the Commission in the region.
The expert and will be part of ECHO’s team in the Regional Support Office (RSO) based in Dakar, Senegal. He/she will be required to carry out regular missions in West Africa region.
He/she may also be called upon to carry out missions in Brussels and should also be prepared to react to a current or evolving crisis in other countries/regions following a request by DG ECHO Brussels.
