EUROfusion, the ‘European Consortium for the Development of Fusion Energy’, manages and funds European fusion research activities on behalf of Euratom. Twenty-nine research organisations and universities from 26 European countries plus Switzerland signed the EUROfusion consortium agreement. In addition, about 100 third parties contribute to the research activities through the consortium members.
Fusion reactions power the Sun, and they occur when light atoms become so hot that they fuse to form heavier elements and release large amounts of energy in the process. The European fusion research programme pursues the realisation of fusion power on Earth.
EUROfusion plans to develop from scratch a European traveling exhibition that showcases European fusion research and has opened a position for a ‘Responsible Officer, Fusion Expo’.
The plan is to launch the exhibition in late 2017. The officer will be responsible for all aspects of the exhibition from the drawing board to the inauguration. The design phase should include aspects of co-creation and the involvement of focus groups as well as the development of an unmistakeable corporate identity. Once the exhibition launches, the responsible officer will be in-charge of the following:

identifying and scheduling events for relevant audiences

organising the exhibition and the opening event with the local organiser

managing the media campaign

taking care of the invitation list

organising satellite events to accompany the exhibition
Required qualities and qualifications:

Proven project management skills

Experience in outreach and education as well as exhibition making

Experience in scientific research or in a scientific environment would be an asset

Fluency in English (oral and written) is required, being an English native speaker would be an asset as well as knowledge of any other European language

Ability to work in an international team and closely with the other members of the EUROfusion communications team
