Policy Officer, Transparent Seas Project – Europe

WWF are looking for a Policy Officer who will be responsible for implementing a joint WWF SFI (Smart Fishing Initiative)/WWF European Policy Office strategy for achieving the European dimension of WWF’s global Transparent Seas Project goals, with an emphasis on achieving effective, transparent, and equitable implementation of the EU IUU Regulation.

The incumbent will act as a Brussels-based policy advocate vis-à-vis relevant EU and EC institutions, and help represent the SFI/EPO before external audiences and within WWF’s network. S/he will help coordinate the related activities of WWF offices in EU member states, and provides a liaison with WWF activities in developing country producer/exporter states where compliance with the EU IUU Regulation and other elements of the Transparent Seas Project are integrated into local WWF activities for promoting seafood traceability, MCS, and sustainable fisheries management.

Location: WWF European Policy Office (WWF EPO) in Brussels, Belgium
