The Nordic Funding Scheme

The Nordic Ministers for Gender Equality wish to stimulate Nordic co-operation in the area of gender equality within the framework of the Ministers’ co-operation programme and its prioritised action area.

Projects eligible for support must be of added value to the Nordic arena and provide added gender equality value.

Each project must involve at least three Nordic countries, of which the Faroe Islands, Greenland and the Åland Islands may constitute one. In addition, funding may be given to activities that involve co-operation with the neighbouring areas – namely, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, as well as North-west Russia, and in which at least two Nordic countries participate. The applying organisation with primary responsibility for the project must be Nordic.

The funding scheme is aimed at a broad target group and is open to various activities and organisations, including:

  • non-profit organisations (NGOs)
  • research groups
  • authorities and other official entities (for example, municipalities)
  • non-commercial actors
  • companies (preferably small and medium-sized)

Single individuals can not be granted funds.

The closing date for applications is 15 September 2013.
