EU Studies Fair Internship Offer

POLITICO-LogoPOLITICO’s events department seeks a smart and proactive intern to join its fast-paced team, as it launches its first events in Brussels and in major European capitals.

POLITICO events are the live extension of POLITICO’s mission to be the number one destination for coverage and analysis of the ideas and personalities driving European politics and policy. We are the modern voice of European political journalism, reaching the most influential political professionals running European institutions and member states, as well as the millions of people consuming political news on a daily basis.

As part of the events team, your main role will be to assist the Project Manager in charge of organizing the EU Studies Fair.

POLITICO’s EU Studies Fair is the largest educational and networking event in the world focused on graduate and postgraduate programs in EU studies, international relations, business, economics, public policy and law.

Since 1999, the EU Studies Fair has been a reference for world-class academic institutions to recruit top students from across the world for graduate and postgraduate programs. The two-day fair, held annually in Brussels, is a unique opportunity for students and young professionals to discover both academic and career opportunities. The EU Studies Fair also features career seminars, personalized career counselling, guided tours of the EU institutions and university spotlights.

As the EU Studies Fair intern, your primary assignments will include:

-Searching for partners and liaising with confirmed partners

-Updating the database with new academic institutions

-Liaising with confirmed exhibitors/sponsors (collecting documents, sending contracts, organizing briefings…)

-Creating and coordinating content for the EU Studies Guide

-Organizing and booking visits to EU institutions

-Monitoring the list of attendees and registrations

-Managing the EUSF mailbox and sending email reminders

-Organizing the EUSF Ambassadors’ project and EUSF contest

-Assisting with the draft program and contacting speakers

-Liaising with speakers, collecting biographies and photos, organizing pre-event briefings…

-Liaising with the venue and sub-contractors

-Updating marketing materials (social media, website)

-Creating badges and event materials (ppt presentation, signage, feedback forms…)

-Executing post-event tasks: thank you emails, contest results…

Preference will be given to candidates with an ability to multitask and prioritize many simultaneous rapidly evolving projects and tasks. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience developing, leading and executing projects from conception to execution, and tracking results and impact. The candidate must have excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills. Interns will be tenacious, detailed-orientated and have a keen interest in politics and media. Interns are expected to be fluent in English; knowledge of other European languages, such as French, German, Spanish and/or Italian is preferred.

All internships generally last three to six months. Please note that internships are unpaid. Compensation for lunch and transport to the office is provided. This position is only available for student training as part of your university or graduate coursework.
