Vacancy Communications trainee at the Prince Claus Fund

As a Communications trainee, you will work with the Communications Officer to promote the work of the Fund, including the exhibition in their gallery, their Africa Out Loud! performances and presentation series, and other cultural projects and events.  If you are an excellent story teller with strong writing skills and a passion for culture, apply to join their team this spring! 

Tasks

Closely following Dutch and international news; Researching appropriate news outlets for certain events; Compiling news items about members of the PCF’s network; Putting together press kits by coordinating with our partners; Assisting with writing and distributing the Fund’s Announcement emails; Quickly writing and posting news/highlights/activities on the PCF website, Facebook and Twitter; Updating the Fund’s database of press contacts; Archiving communications materials; Guiding visitors at events and gallery.

Qualifications/Qualities

Fluent in Dutch and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills; Experience with Content Management Systems or an interest in navigating labyrinths; Experience with social media, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Paint and PhotoShop; Efficient, quick, resourceful, pro-active, self-motivated, stress-resistant with the ability to work with a team in a fast-paced environment; Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented; Additional languages a plus; Pursuing BA/BS or MA/MS degree in communications/journalism, marketing or related field preferred.

They have numerous events to publicize and attend, which offers great networking opportunities. Communication at the Fund works together in a team with Fundraising and Outreach, offering a supportive, interactive team environment. Depending on the trainee’s skillset, this position also can offer the trainee quite a lot of independence and freedom to complete tasks on their own.

The Prince Claus Fund provides an allowance of €250,- gross per month for a full-time trainee. Full- time availability is strongly preferred, though a part-time traineeship is also possible. It is also possible to work as a volunteer and receive a stipend if the applicant is not a registered student.
