Vacancy Announcement: UNRIC Director’s Intern

UNRIC Brussels is looking for an intern for the Director for a period of four months, starting in September 2015. The internship will be based in Paris and the mandate is to work on the preparations of the Climate Change Conference in Paris in December 2015. (COP21)

Applicants should be graduates, preferably in the area of communications, journalism, international relations, marketing or political science.

Candidates must have native or near-native written and oral communication skills in French, and an excellent working knowledge of English.

UNRIC does not provide financial support for interns. All successful applicants are expected to make their own arrangements for travel to Paris, lodging and living expenses during the four month internship period.

Core responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Director, UNRIC staff and external UNRIC partners.

Skills:

  • Native or near native French communication skills, both written and oral

  • Working knowledge of English

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and social media skills.

  • Ability to write clearly, concisely and in an engaging manner for a wide audience.

  • Knowledge of the UN and understanding of its goals and objectives.
