ERA are looking for a new member of our team as soon as possible:

Project Lawyer in European Private Law (f/m)

with an excellent knowledge of EU law and special expertise in judicial cooperation in civil matters

You will be responsible for managing different projects in the field of judicial cooperation in civil matters co-financed by the European Commission.

Your job will in particular include the following tasks:

  • Organisation and implementation of a series of seminars for judges and legal practitioners: topics include the Brussels Ia, Brussels IIa and EU Succession Regulation
  • Day-to-day management and overall coordination of the projects
  • Cooperation with the partners
  • Drafting contents for the project website and the relevant reports

Besides your expertise in European private law, you have strong networking and communication skills and are fluent in English and at least one of ERA’s other working languages (French and German). Legal practice or professional experience as well as sound knowledge of the EU institutions’ decision-making process and the implementation of EU-financed projects would be an advantage. Native English speakers are particularly encouraged to apply.

The post is financed under a Commission grant and at this stage fixed for two years (fixed term contract). The place of work is the city of Trier in Germany, just over the border from the EU‘s judicial capital in Luxembourg. Regular travel is part of the job.
