NOTICE OF OPEN COMPETITION – Accreditation officers/receptionists (SC 1/SC 2) – EPSO/AST-SC/05/16




epso-logoThe European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO) is organising an open competition, based on qualifications and tests, to draw up reserve lists from which the European Parliament will recruit new members of the civil service as accreditation officers/receptionists (function group AST-SC).

WHAT TASKS CAN I EXPECT TO PERFORM?

The European Parliament is looking for accreditation officers/receptionists to attend reception desks and process accreditation requests and issue access cards in compliance with European Parliament rules.

Recruited personnel will be required to wear a uniform supplied by the European Parliament, to travel to the three sites of the European Parliament (Brussels, Strasbourg and Luxembourg) and to work in shifts.

You must meet ALL of the following conditions when you validate your application:

General conditions

Enjoy full rights as a citizen of a Member State of the EU

Meet any obligations under national laws on military service

Meet the character requirements for the duties concerned

Specific conditions: languages

Language 1: minimum level — C1 of one of the 24 official EU languages

Language 2: minimum level — B2 inEnglish, French or German; must be different from language 1

You must fill in your application form in English, French, or German .

The second language chosen must be English, French, or German . These are the main working languages of the EU institutions and, in the interests of the service, new recruits must be immediately able to work and communicate effectively in their daily work in at least one of them.

Specific conditions: qualifications & work experience

Grades SC 1 and SC 2

Post-secondary education of at least 1 year attested by a diploma directly related to the nature of the duties,

or

Secondary education attested by a diploma giving access to post-secondary education followed by at least 3 years’ professional experience directly related to the nature of the duties,

or

Professional training (equivalent to European Qualification Framework Level 4 — http://ec.europa.eu/ploteus/search/site?f%5B0%5D=im_field_entity_type%3A97) of at least 1 year, followed by a minimum of 3 years’ professional experience . Both the training and experience must be directly related to the nature of the duties.

or

Professional experience of at least 8 years directly related to the nature of the duties

NB: The years of professional experience mentioned above do not count towards the number of years of professional experience required below.

Additional professional experience:

Grade SC 2 only

At least 4 years’ additional professional experience directly related to the nature of the duties.

This professional experience is relevant only where it has been gained after obtaining the qualification and/or professional experience required for access to the competition (see Grades SC 1 and SC 2 above).

The professional experience required should concern practical knowledge of the accreditation and reception fields in an international and/or multicultural environment in the private or public sector. This experience must be directly or mostly related to the nature of the duties of an accreditation officer/receptionist as described in ANNEX I.
