Under the overall supervision of the Regional Director at the Regional Office for the EEA, the EU and NATO and the direct supervision of the Senior Regional Migration Health Advisor Europe, Central Asia & Liaison to the EU, the successful candidate will support the development and implementation of Migration Health activities and projects.

 

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

 

In particular, he/ she will undertake the following tasks:

  1. In close coordination with the Regional Advisor the incumbent will support the implementation of Regional projects, being responsible for the financial, administrative and technical oversight of project implementation, in a timely manner and in line with IOM’s policies and practices as well as donor requirements;
  2. Provide technical support and guidance on the Regional project implementation to the IOM missions and partner entities cooperating in the implementation of the projects;
  3. Contribute to maintaining strong partnerships and liaison with Government entities, in particular the Ministry of Interior/ Ministry of Health of participating countries in Component I, and other relevant stakeholders;
  4. Coordinate closely with DG SANCO, EC agencies (EAHC, FRA, EASO, ECDC, Frontex) and other partners, as necessary, during the life of the project;
  5. Organize and hold, in coordination with the Regional Advisor meetings, trainings and workshops , with all concerned actors;
  6. Provide research support, including desk reviews and backstopping of the work of expert working groups, support development of reports and country briefs;
  7. Assist in drafting quality donor reports and ensure timely submission;
  8. Draft and assist in proofreading of project reports, correspondence and information documents, for internal and external distribution to European institutions, national and international organizations, non-governmental organizations, public and private entities and other IOM Missions;
  9. Participate in the implementation of the dissemination. Support the recruitment and monitor the work of consultants and experts contracted to complete specific tasks as per project description and objectives;
  10. Identify and pursue co-funding opportunities directly related to the Project and coordination with subsequent donors;
  11. Represent IOM on seminars and meetings as required, as well as other events aimed at promoting IOM’s image and activities in the field of Migration Health;
  12. Monitor European Union (EU) priorities, trends, policies and programmes in the field of migration and ethnic minorities’ health;
  13. Support the review and drafting of project proposals and project development including identifying partners and ensuring compliance with the requirements of the call for proposals/tender as well as with internal IOM rules and procedures;
  14. Perform other relevant duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

a)Master degree in Public Health, Political or Social Science, or another relevant field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in an international environment or Bachelor degree in the above fields with a minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience b) Excellent knowledge of EU migration health policies, financial instruments, institutions and decision-making mechanisms is required; c) Demonstrated experience in project development and implementation in an international environment is required; d) Experience in research management and qualitative and quantitative research is an asset; e) Proven experience in working with MS Windows applications

 

Languages

Fluency in oral and written English is required
