Internship – Distance Education and Learning Technology Applications (DELTA), ITC

international-labour-organization-ilo-logoInternational Training Centre, established by the International Labour Organization and the Italian Government in 1964 in Turin as an advanced vocational training institute, provides training and related services that develop human resources and institutional capabilities.

DELTA programme has a double mandate: to strengthen the Centre’s in-house capacity to apply state-of-the-art learning and knowledge-sharing methods and technology, and to provide training services to outside partners.

In particular, the e-Campus is intended to position the Centre strategically in the landscape of e-learning. This central knowledge sharing hub will gradually contain self- guided e-learning modules, tutor-based e-learning programmes, on-line communities of practices, webinars, promotional materials, and relevant ILO knowledge products.

Learning objectives

The intern will become familiar with e-learning quality improvement scheme in the centralized e-Campus.

For this, the OpenECBcheck will be used, an accreditation and quality improvement scheme for E-Learning programmes and institutions in international Capacity Building. The instrument supports capacity development organizations to measure how successful their e-learning programmes are and allows for continuous improvement though peer collaboration and bench learning.

The outputs of this internship are:

  1. An up to date desk review of the current state of quality and e-learning at ITC-ILO.

  2. A self-assessment and peer-assessment of three ITC-ILO e-learning courses.

  3. A report on the current e-learning development of the e-Campus.

Internship terms of reference

The intern will support the e-Campus team with a specific focus on quality assurance.

The intern is expected to:

– Work closely with the DELTA team to analyze the current state of e-learning courses and identify sample of best practices

– Support co-design and implementation of different e-learning products within the e-campus framework

– Support the on-going e-learning development initiatives.

Required qualifications/profile

  • Master’s degree in adult learning, educational sciences, instructional design, instructional technology, organization development, social sciences or related fields

  • Fluency in English (oral and written)

  • Advanced knowledge of internet, familiarity with Learning Managements Systems (Moodle)

  • Knowledge of multimedia tools is an asset (Photoshop, Pinnacle, Articulate, Adobe Captivate)
