ICT Officer – Administration Section – EU Delegation to the African Union

Main responsibilities and tasks:

Under the general supervision of the Head of Administration and in close coordination with the Regional IT Officer, the role of the agent will be focused on support for the end-user and the management of ICT material such as desktop, laptop, UPS, PDA and printers. The agent will be the 1st person contacted by end-user when ICT issues arise. He/she will be responsible among other, for following up basic incidents, keeping inventory of ICT material and assisting the Regional IT officer in ICT related technical and administrative tasks, including for:

  • Acceptance, recording and classification of incidents in a standardized way.
  • Implementation of basic RFC (request for change) such as installation of hardware and software on workstation CI’s (configuration items).
  • Implementation of hardware/software for any non-sensitive data related CI.
  • 1st level support for hardware/software incidents for the following CI types: Desktop, laptop, UPS, PDA, local printers, Network printer, scanners and videoconference.
  • Central reporting to HQ helpdesk delegations for any central related matter.
  • Organising IT training for end users on common IT matters.
  • Assisting the regional IT officer and the Head of administration in negotiation with suppliers of local IT equipment – cabling – local internet service provider, etc.
  • Performing other relevant tasks as requested by the head of delegation or superiors.
  • The agent will also have regular contacts with the ICT Services in Headquarters
