About the course

This interactive course is delivered by  experienced professionals and designed for participants to learn about EU economic governance, and how both the financial and euro crisis have impacted this policy area.

After a general introduction to the EU’s economic policy and integration, practical sessions and exercises will explain participants how the European and euro area’s economic governance has evolved and will further cope with the ongoing challenges.

Main topics are:

  • Evolution of the EU’s economic integration
  • Economic and fiscal policy
  • Banking Union and Capital Markets Union
  • The role of the ECB and the extent of its mandate

Learning methodology

The programme combines training sessions on both substance and skills:

  • Interactive training sessions examining theoretical and practical aspects of EU economic governance;
  • A workshop and a case study;
  • Debates to promote networking and exchange experiences with lecturers and peers;
  • A feedback session to consolidate the knowledge.

Fee

The tuition fee is € 1,300, which includes participation in the seminar, course materials, access to the College’s Library, lunches at the College’s restaurant and social events. Accommodation and travel costs are at the expense of the participants or their administration.
