Doctoral candidate (PhD student) in the field of Educational or Social Sciences (M/F)
- Ref. F3R-ECC-PFN-14INCL, Acronym: INCLUS
- Fixed-term contract for 3 years, full-time (40 hrs/week), starting 01.05.2015
He/she will become a member of the institute of Teacher Professionalization and Psychology of Education (TPPE) within the Education, Culture, Cognition and Society research unit (ECCS). He/she will work under supervision of Prof. Dr. Sabine Krolak-Schwerdt, Prof Dr. Justin J.W. Powell and Dr. Ineke Pit-ten Cate.
Research area:
The Doctoral candidate will be working on the project: “Inclusive Education: The Effect of Teacher Characteristics and School Support on Inclusive Practice (INCLUS),” funded by the CORE Program of the Fonds National de la Recherche Luxembourg. The research aims to develop and evaluate training programs to promote quality in inclusive education, which could be incorporated in teacher education or continuing education programs. The ultimate goal is to provide a research-informed contribution to successful inclusive practice.
Your Role
- Write a thesis in the domain of Inclusive Education
- Conduct and evaluate differential training modules regarding inclusive education, together with the Post-doc researcher working on the project
- Analyze data
- Present results at international conferences and contribute to written publications (English)
- Contribute to the dissemination of findings to practitioners and policy makers
- Contribute to project meetings and scientific networking concerning the project
Your Profile
- An outstanding Master’s degree or diploma in Educational or Social Sciences (psychology, pedagogy)
- Experience in quantitative research methods
- Knowledge of specific software (Office programs, SPSS)
- Excellent command of the following languages: German and English. Knowledge of Luxembourgish or French will be considered an advantage
- Knowledge of the (Luxembourgish) educational system is highly desirable
