ASEF Creative Networks

ASEF Creative Networks encourages the establishment and/or strengthening of bi-regional cultural networks connecting Asia and Europe. Existing and emerging cultural networks are invited to apply.

Asia-Europe-Foundation-ASEFThe Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) is launching the 2nd call for proposals and welcomes the submission of projects that will take place between 1 April and 30 November 2015. The submission deadline is 15 July 2014.

The ASEF acknowledges the growing importance of cultural networks as an increasingly significant channel of dialogue and co-operation between Asia and Europe in the field of arts and culture. Through this initiative, seek to collaborate with cultural networks, enhance the mobility of cultural professionals and promote sustainable long-term connections between the two regions.
ASEF encourage networks and cultural organisations to submit multilateral proposals that engage several
partners and participants from the 49 member countries of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM).

The proposals must meet the following criteria:
Eligibility:

  • Applicants and project participants must be from ASEM member countries.
  • Projects should be jointly proposed by a minimum of 2 partner organisations/networks (not individuals) from ASEM countries, with at least 1 partner each from Asia and Europe. Multiple project partners are welcome.
  • Projects should take place between 1 April and 30 November 2015. 
  • Proposals should include result-oriented projects (e.g. establishment of new networks, join activity by network members) that facilitate dialogue, collaboration and knowledge exchange between artists & cultural professionals from Asia and Europe.
  • Projects should only take place in ASEM countries. 
  • Online projects have to be managed from ASEM countries.

Other selection criteria include:

  • Projects that offer networking opportunities and/or collaborative activities between networks in Asia and Europe;
  • The expansion of networks in Asia or Europe into the other region;
  • Projects that facilitate knowledge exchange and professional capacity-building;
  • Projects that reflect the cultural diversity of Asia and Europe; and,
  • Projects that generate tangible outputs and activities (e.g. establishment of new networks, research reports, publications, training programmes, exhibitions etc.).

ASEF will only partially fund the selected projects up to a maximum amount of Singapore Dollars (SGD) 25,000. Additional funding sources have to be identified by the applicants and mentioned in the submitted proposal. The ASEF contribution cannot exceed 50% of the total project budget. It will also not include seed funding or cover operational costs.

Project proposals must be emailed to ASEF latest by 6:00 pm (1800 hours) Singapore time on 15 July 2014.
