Apply to win the YPFP Rising Star in Foreign Policy Award 2017




The Young Professionals in Foreign Policy Brussels branch is excited to launch their new award celebrating a Rising Star in Foreign Policy 2017!

Honouring an individual based in Belgium who has achieved outstanding work in the field of foreign policy in the past year, this is your chance to have your achievements celebrated in the heart of the EU and win some fantastic prizes.

The winner of the award will receive a EUR 6,000 scholarship for training at the prestigious ISPD Protocol & Diplomacy and a Visionary membership at ISPD+ Innovation in Diplomacy network, a cash prize and an annual YPFP membership. One runner-up will receive a one-day training with communications experts Clear Europe, as well as annual YPFP membership.

Anyone under the age of 35 can apply, with the award recognising achievements in any one of a range of policy fields, including many varied topics such as trade, humanitarian work, environmental causes, defence, EU/ institution related work, or inter-faith dialogue. Any young professional in Brussels, from a charity campaigner to an aspiring business owner, may submit an application for our award. What’s more, young professionals can also be nominated by friends, family or colleagues!

Once the application process has closed, 10 applications will be shortlisted by YPFP staff, with an expert panel of judges (to be announced shortly) deciding the winner and runner-up. The winner will be presented with their prizes at YPFP’s signature event, their annual Gala Dinner at the NH Hotel on 24 November 2017.

Interested? Enter by submitting an application explaining in no more than 500 words why you or the person you are nominating should be considered for the award. Applications must include personal details and supporting documentation (a maximum of 5 documents/ website links, where one must include a two-page CV), including a photo of the applicant.

Deadline is 17.00 on 6 November 2017. Nominees will be shortlisted and announced by 13 November, with the winner announced on 24 November 2017.

*Should the applicant already be a YPFP member, their membership will be extended for one year from the 24 November 2017.
